Following the results of an extensive ACS Review, the SIA has made many significant changes to the Approved Contractor Scheme Standard and the Self-Assessment Workbook. These changes will come into effect from 1st April 2019. Therefore all existing approved contractors must ensure that they meet the new requirements by this date.
The SIA stated that they wanted to clarify and streamline the current ACS process. They have done this by re-wording and re-organising existing criteria and by adding new requirements. The scoring system has also been amended. There are now 7 sections instead of 9, with the criteria of the 2 sections removed being embedded in the rest of the Workbook.
We aim to constantly remain abreast of industry change and are therefore fully conversant with the new requirements of the amended Approved Contractor Scheme. We are guiding new clients through the process already and working with existing approved contractors to amend their working practices in line with the new standard.
